25 years ago we had a dream, not only to produce quality healthy koi of every variety possible from the top bloodlines in Japan but to keep the very best and become self-sufficient using our own second generation koi as future parents.
It was something at the time that seemed impossible just breeding good koi back then was very difficult and information was hard to come by, breeding techniques, feeding, grading, growing, overwintering were all things we had to learn by trial and error. Over the last 10 years we have started to see that dream come to fruition having used our own parent koi to produce most varieties we do here on the farm including the showa in this video. These will start to become available this Autumn. They were spawned mid May so around 14 weeks old and around 12-14cm long so growing very well.
