On this page we will try to keep you updated with the current stock of koi available. Please be aware that stocks available change almost on a daily basis. Stock available may not necessarily be representative of what is in the shop, as many of our fish, especially smaller sizes, are held on the farm. With this in mind, if you are planning to visit us for something specific, please call in advance, as we may have to select stock for you before you arrive. How we grade our Koi

High Grade Our top fish are selected firstly on pattern and depth of colour in relation to both their age and variety, based on our experience of their development. With this in mind the fish are also judged on their future potential, for growth, and the depth and longevity of their colour and pattern. Our high grade fish are available in all varieties, though the majority of the more expensive fish will always be Kohaku, Sanke, Showa and Utsuri. To understand this you have to look at a few factors. Large investment in broodfish, lower fry survival/high fry mutation due to genetically weaker immune system (inbreeding in these bloodlines to develop the variety), very low percentage of fry true to variety/parents, which leads back to the high broodfish cost. Our high grade fish represent less than 2% of our total output each season, due partly to the issues discussed above, and also to our strict grading policy. While our pricelist gives a guideline to their costs, larger individuals will be priced according to their individual quality, and therefore cannot be quoted on a generic list. High grade fish start from 3-4" upwards, available as individuals or mixed variety boxes. Byordering high grade fish we will always aim to meet your specific variety requirements.

Standard Grade Our most popular fish, these are excellent examples of their variety, generally sold as mixed batches to give you examples of as many varieties as possible, subject to availability. In smaller sized fish, if you require a specific mix of varieties then you should consider the high grade mixed boxes. These fish are the best patterned fish from our spawnings, with the exeption of those reserved for higher A grade fish.

C Grade A new addition to our range. These are fish that do not fit into our other grades above. For example, they will not have the pattern or depth of colour for their variety. Examples would be Kohaku with little orange pattern, Sanke with too much black, metallics without clean enough heads (low lustre), or plain coloured koi (plain orange, plain white). They are very popular boxes of fish, very hardy pond fillers, or for gaining experience of rearing young Koi before moving onto higher grade fish. As with all our boxes, we aim to give you the best mix of colours available at the time.

Varieties and Availability

	Kohaku	Our Kohaku production tends to increase from year to year, using parents from some of Japans top bloodlines.
	Shiro Utsuri	Investment in Omasako broodfish has improved the quality of our Shiro dramatically and we continue to give a lot of attention to this variety, that is becoming very sought after by our customers.
	Showa	Like Shiro, Another hard variety to work with, with such a small percentage of offspring worth growing on. Usually available in high grade mixes or as high grade individuals from 6-14".
	Shusui	One of our most popular varieties and usually available in all sizes and grades.
	Sanke	With mixed results from year to year, we continue to work on our Sanke breedins to try and maintain a more continuous supply.
	Hi Utsuri	Becoming an increasigly popular variety for us. Very hardy and fast growing.
	Ogon	Always popular and nearly always available. We produce Platinum Ogon, Yamabuki Ogon and Hariwake in both Doitsu and normal scaled.
	Kujaku/Matsuba	Produced with increasing success each year.
	Chagoi	We produce Chagoi, Soragoi and Ochiba.
	Goshiki	A relatively new variety to our farm, but very successful and very popular.

All prices subject to change without notice or due to availability. This list is not an availability list. Sizes and species and varieties available vary greatly throughout the season.

Koi Fry. We are able to supply fry from our breeding at two different ages. For more experienced fish keepers, 2-3 (10mm) week old fish, supplied straight from their hatching pond. These fish still require live feed such as brine shrimp (artemia) and subsequent weaning onto dry diets. Our 6-8 week (15-22mm) mixed variety fry are suitable for all fish keepers, with the fish already feeding on dry diets, which can be supplied by ourselves if necessary. These fish provide a fantastic expansion of the hobby for koi keepers, or represent the cheapest way for companies to supply their own requirements if they have growing facilities. Customers are recommended to read our website or the sheet supplied with the fry to ensure success with such small fish.

Mixed Variety Koi

Koi can be supplied as mixed variety in all our size grades. This mix will include the best possible colour range, according to the stock available at that time. For the higher grade, fish will be hand-selected that are of the best colour for their variety, again subject to availability at that time. When selecting high grade fish, customers may specify which varieties they require. Standard grade fish will be a mix of varieties of our choice. We will aim to provide the best range as possible, according to availability. Varieties we regularly produce are: Shusui, Kohaku, Sanke, Showa, Ogon, Kujaku, Goshiki, Shiro Utsuri, Hi Utsuri, Kin Showa, Chagoi, Soragoi, Hariwake, Bekko with other varieties too. Doitsu versions available in many of these varieties too.

C grade Koi

Due to increasing public demand, we now offer boxes of C grade fish. These are boxes of Koi that do not make our standard grade mixed variety, and are ideal pond fillers. The fish will have less pattern than standard grade fish, or be of plain, single colour such as orange, white, etc. As always we aim to provide the best mix of colours available, so you do not receive a box of all one coloured Koi. Available as a box price only.

Ornamental Fish

We also produce a range of other Ornamental pond fish. Like our Koi, the fish are produced on site to provide you with healthy UK fish for the bargain prices people have come to recognise us for. The species most often in stock are Golden Orfe, Golden Tench, Green Tench, Mirror Carp, Ghost Carp, Goldfish and Shubunkins.
